Congratulations to the following IBCLCs for their hard work and achieving the highest exam results in the Asia Pacific and Africa Region

2011 Initial Candidate

Erika is a Maternal and Child Health nurse working for the City of Kingston in the south east of Melbourne. She has 3 sons, all of whom she breastfed for at least 12 months. She was involved with The Nursing Mothers Association when her 2 eldest were babies, before moving back to Melbourne and training as a midwife. MCH came later and has allowed her to further her knowledge and practice in assisting new mothers to successfully breastfeed their babies.

2011 Recertification IBCLC

Liz Nash is a Midwife/IBCLC in the Nelson/Marlborough region, New Zealand. She lives in the Marlborough Sounds with her family. She has practiced as a midwife since 1996 and gained her IBCLC certification in 2000. Liz established a Breastfeeding Clinic in 1998 where she assisted mothers for 10 years. Currently she works as the Midwifery Educator for the region, facilitating BFHI education and other professional development. She is passionate about excellent post-natal care and the role of breastfeeding in assisting with attachment and the positive transition to motherhood.

Jennifer Naude is a general medical practitioner, an IBCLC and volunteer La Leche League Leader. She worked in a public hospital in South Africa as a lactation consultant, where exclusive breastfeeding is promoted as a way to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV and HIV disease free survival of children. She moved to Sydney with her family in 2011 and is a lactation consultant in private practice. She is passionate about nurturing the new generation of IBCLCs.

2010 Initial Candidate

Jeaninne Paterson was born in New York and moved to Austria at the age of twelve. She moved to Australia in 1992, studied Naturopathy which she completed a Diploma of Applied Science in 1997, Bachelor of Nursing in 2002, postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery in 2005.She moved to the Sunshine Coast three years ago and has been working within all areas of maternity. She has a real passion for supporting women and their families during their journey into parenthood. This includes aiming for optimum health and well being for both women and their partners from pre-conception throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. Jeaninne lives on the Sunshine Coast QLD, Australia

2010 Recertification IBCLC

Sue Passey is a Child & Family Health Nurse and Midwife, and has been an IBCLC for 10 years. She is currently part of the Child & Family Health team at Sydney Children’s Hospital, where she works on the Parent Support Team and in one of the Breastfeeding Support Groups. She feels privileged to be in a position to support mothers to initiate and maintain their breastfeeding, and to help them along their parenting paths. Sue lives in Maroubra, NSW.
